i. To undertake effective programmes for the progressive development of all mankind towards the society of Justice, Peace and Dignity for all.
ii. To assist in or undertake studies on matters related to life and witness of the Church in India.
iii. To undertake relief, rehabilitation, development program among the needy, irrespective of caste, creed or colour or in collaboration with others through compassionate service, both in emergency and normal course.
iv. To undertake effective programs for the progressive development of all mankind towards the society of Justice, Peace and Dignity for all.
v. To mobilise resources of voluntary agencies and to coordinate their efforts for advancing the development of the country through social action; to serve as an agency for assisting voluntary agencies in their efforts to respond to human need and to further cooperation among them.
vi. To cooperate with other agencies, central and state governments in projects contributing to the social, economic, industrial and agricultural development of the country.
vii. To initiate and assist community development programs.
viii. To undertake emergency relief work for victims of flood, fire, famine, earthquake or other disasters.
ix. To assist in resettlement and rehabilitation of displaced persons and repatriates.
x. To receive, store and distribute among the needy, gift supplies including food, medical supplies, clothing equipment and materials.
xi. To initiate and administer programs for providing better nutrition to children and adults primarily through schools and other established institutions.
xii. To mobilise, train and deploy voluntary workers for service projects through student organisation.
